Here’s a report from Julie Curling, one of our competitors. The competition results are below.
The final league competition of the CTG Blue Chip Winter League was held at Milton Keynes on 25th March. It was another success, a brilliant venue and the weather was just perfect – the sun was a welcome change from the normal dismal winter weather. For me, it was a very early start which was not helped by the clocks changing, but well worth the effort. The competition was another friendly, well organised show hosted by Central TREC Group and supported by quite a few new faces, who hopefully have been bitten by the TREC bug and will be taking part in future events.
There were some changes from the normal obstacles, with led low branches (which provided great viewing of horses crouching – see the photos) and the Easter special; this involved picking up a very small egg from the top of one cone and transferring it to another without dropping it. Thank you also to the Spillers lady for bringing the weighbridge, it’s nice to have an accurate weight of your horse and feeding advice, and it made for an interesting obstacle at the end of the course!
My rosettes were a bonus and the prizes yummy, my Blue Chip hat stored away for next winter!!
Thank you to ALL the organisers for making it such a great day, your hard work shows in the smooth running of the show and is really appreciated by us all and we can’t wait for the summer season.
